Demographics

In under 50 years the population of McAllen-Reynosa area has grown immensely from nearly 325,000 people in 1969 to over 2 million today.

The region is home to a new generation of young, educated workers, 90 percent of whom are Hispanic, according to the U.S. Census Bureau; a vast majority speak both English and Spanish fluently.

Our current labor force — which includes nearly 340,000 people, with a median age of 27 to 29 - provides companies with a clear solution to the ever-growing shortage of labor which threatens all U.S. manufacturers. The National Association of Manufacturers estimates the U.S. will face a deficit of 10 million workers by 2020.
