The University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley

The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, part of the prestigious University of Texas utrgv imgsystem, is dedicated to equipping its nearly 28,000 students with skills that will put them ahead of the game in the modern workplace. The university’s annual HESTEC (Hispanic Engineering, Science, and Technology) Week has become a nationally recognized model for promoting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. Since 2016, the School of Medicine has offered an innovative learning experience designed to instill students with scientific, clinical, and research expertise of the highest professional standards.

South Texas College 

With more than 34,000 students , five state-of-the-art campuses, three teaching centers and one virtual campus, South Texas College has grown into one of the area’s most important producers of technically skilled graduates. The college is the home of the North American Advanced Manufacturing Research and Education Initiative. STC serves as the Regional Institute for schools stc cooper centerAdvanced Manufacturing linked to all the community and technical colleges in the region. South Texas College has taken the lead in helping train the workers to fuel a regional manufacturing economy and to support innovations in rapid response manufacturing.

Texas A & M - McAllen

In September 2015, officials with the Texas A&M University System, the City of McAllen and Hidalgo County announced plans to open a satellite campus in McAllen that will offer students the chance to earn a degree from Texas A&M’s main campus in College Station without leaving the Rio Grande Valley. Classes will begin in the Fall of 2017 in temporary facilities. The multipurpose academic building is schedule to open in the Fall of 2018.
